I. Accountability Objective: To effectively plan, direct, and provide leadership for the total maintenance, infrastructure, and engineering of the AFF meat processing facility at Thomasville. Ensure compliance to all safety, environmental, and government regulations regarding equipment, hazardous materials, and construction within the facilities. The position will be guided by the principles of our mission statement: mutual respect, trust, teamwork, communication and responsibility.
II. Specific Accountabilities of this position include:
· Preservation of the function of our physical assets to the satisfaction of their owners, users, and society
· Provides leadership for maintenance personnel and support for facilities and production operations
· Train, administer, and control the personnel required to perform the current maintenance workload and be accountable for worker performance and utilization in Maintenance
· P&L target and forecast delivery for department including fixed costs
· Purchase, inventory control, and management of all parts and supplies for department
· Supports maintenance mechanics to obtain the desired performance levels according to company policies and procedures and establishes the minimum level of performance considered satisfactory
· Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM, HAZMAT, RMP and local ordinances.
· Assigns personnel and obtains materials necessary for prompt and effective repair of equipment and facilities.
· Develops and builds on current capabilities to prepare associates for successful job performance and career advancement.
· Evaluates system performance for cost savings and improved plant operations and design, co-ordinates, and implement projects to improve the process.
· Researches current practices and advances technical knowledge to inform associates of current standards and new developments.
· Project management of projects relating to capital improvements
· Coordinate and manage all outside services and contractors as it relates to on-going maintenance and projects
· Ensure all operations start up on schedule and down time is maintained at budgeted levels

IV. Position fit into the organization:
The position reports directly to the Plant Manager, Thomasville. One salaried Equipment and Training Specialist and two (2) hourly Maintenance Techs report directly to this position.
The incumbent works closely with all functional areas within Thomasville. It is critical that this group works together and in harmony to form strong team efforts in providing company direction.

Requirements |
V. Qualifications:
· B. S. Engineering equivalent job experience, preferably in meat or food processing.
· Minimum 10 years experience in maintenance/engineering role in manufacturing environment with multi-facility frozen or perishable products
· Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
· Minimum 5 years P&L/budgetary and capital budget experience
· Possess or obtain certification by appropriate professional organization (e.g. CMRP, CPMM, CPE, etc)
· Computer literate and proficient with CMMS, Word, Excel, Access, and Autocad.
· Strong electrical skills.
· Ammonia refrigeration experience.
· Ability to read blueprints for structural, mechanical and electrical requirements.
